Production Process Of Bathtub Faucet
Apr 11, 2025
The production process of bathtub faucet mainly includes the following key steps:
Raw material selection: Bathtub faucet usually uses copper alloy as the main material. The commonly used copper alloy grade is H59-1 lead brass. Its lead content is strictly controlled between 1.8%-2.5%, which meets the GB/T1176-2013 casting copper and copper alloy standard.
Casting: Using a fully automatic gravity casting production line, mold engineers make steel molds according to the three-dimensional model, and spray 0.3mm thick boron nitride coating on the surface of the cavity to improve demolding. During the smelting process, the medium frequency electric furnace heats the copper ingot to 1080±20℃, and the liquid metal is injected into the mold after degassing and deslagging. The casting is naturally cooled in the mold and then taken out by the robot.
Machining: The casting needs to be deburred before entering the CNC machining center. The five-axis linkage machining center is positioned by a special fixture. The sealing plane is first rough-machined with a φ12mm carbide milling cutter, leaving a 0.3mm finishing allowance. When finishing, the diamond-coated tool is switched, and the speed is increased to 8000rpm to ensure that the surface roughness Ra≤0.8μm. The thread processing adopts the extrusion molding process, and the bottom hole diameter is precisely controlled at φ10.85mm to ensure the matching accuracy of the G1/2 pipe thread.
Electroplating: The electroplating production line includes 12 processes. Ultrasonic degreasing is used in the pre-treatment stage, and 10% sulfuric acid solution is used in the pickling stage, and the time is strictly controlled within 90 seconds. The nickel plating layer thickness is required to be ≥8μm, the current density is 2.5A/dm², and the plating solution temperature is 55℃. The final chromium plating layer adopts a micro-crack process, and the number of cracks is ≥400/cm, which not only ensures corrosion resistance but also meets the appearance requirements. Each batch of products must pass a 48-hour salt spray test and the rating must reach the 9-level standard.
Assembly: The assembly workshop implements modular operations. The valve core installation station is equipped with a torque sensor to ensure that the locking torque of the sealing cover is stable at 15±0.5N·m. The connection between the water outlet and the body is also strictly assembled to ensure the sealing performance.
